These languages are universally useful and will be found frequently throughout Etrium.
Common spoken in most civilized areas of Etrium and is the primary language of humans and halflings
Dwarven often considered to be the language of business and is the primary language of the dwarves
Elvish spoken by elves and has very little regional variation due to the nomadic nature of elves
Goblin a rough language that seems to incorporate spitting and is the primary language of goblinoids
Orcish one of the oldest languages with a written form and is the primary language of orcs and gnolls
Sylvan brought to Etrium from the First World and is the primary language of gnomes and other fey creatures
While not as widely spoken as the above, these languages are common amongst certain regions or certain peoples.
Aboleth the primary language spoken by water dwelling peoples such as merfolk, gillmen, and naga
Aklo the second most commonly spoken language in Witches’ Run
Draconic an almost musical sounding language and is the primary language spoken by dragons, kobolds, and lizardfolk
Giant a language of low rumbling sounds and is the primary language of giants, ogres, and cyclops
Undercommon the Darklands’ version of Common
These are languages that only occasionally show up around Etrium in specific situations such as the summoning of an outsider or in certain texts and rituals.

Drow Sign-Language a language of hand gestures only known by drow
Druidic a language spoken only by druids
