Languages Elves begin play speaking Common and Elven. Elves with high Intelligence scores can choose from the following: Celestial, Draconic, Goblin, Orcish, and Sylvan.

The elves in Etrium are ruled by two powerful monarchs, the Archdruid and the Archmage. Traditionally, these roles are filled by one male and one female (then colloquially referred to as the King or Queen of Elves), but there has been a small handful of cases there that was not possible. Both roles are appointed by the appropriate governing body: the Archdruid is appointed by the Druid Circle, and the Archmage is appointed by the Arcane Council. Campaigning for a position is strictly forbidden to prevent the emergence of favoritism or “buying” their way in. Once appointed, the positions are held for life.

The current Archdruid is a powerful man named Ruvaen Phidithas. He resides in a temple dedicated to Tohena in HIghwood and is pushing for elves to remember their traditional ways of tending to the natural land of Etrium. He is much less charismatic than his arcane counterpart and is generally considered a bit of a recluse.

The current Archmage is an ambitious woman named Lastril Ilidova. She maintains her residence in a palace-like apartment at the top of the main spire of the Elysium. She encourages the elves to move forward and embrace progress. Upon her coronation, she began construction of Elysium as a sign of friendship between the elves and the other nations of Etrium.

Historically, the elves of Silverpass and the dwarves of Thrudane Mountains have found themselves locked into an endless conflict. The war between the elves and the dwarves began when ventilation shafts began springing up around Silverpass. A certain mine system actually runs under Silverpass itself. This small spark set off a territory war that had the elves and dwarves at each other’s throats for centuries. The war has recently been called to a ceasefire in favor of negotiations, but those are quickly falling apart.

Alternate Racial Trait

  • Woodland Elf Some elves are less inclined towards higher learning, especially those who are more in tune with nature. These elves gain a +2 to their Wisdom score, +2 to their Dexterity score, and a -2 to their Constitution score. This racial trait replaces elf’s racial ability score modifiers.
